Commission Policy

Thank you for considering a commissioned artwork from Embodied in Art by Jess.
Each commission is a collaborative creative process and is undertaken with care, communication and mutual respect.
Enquiries
Commission enquiries can be made via:

Please include:
- A brief description of your request
- Preferred size or format
- Intended purpose
- Desired completion date (if applicable)
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee acceptance of a commission.
Quotations and Deposits
A quotation will be provided before work begins.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your commission and reserve studio time.
Work will not commence until the deposit has been received.
The remaining balance is payable before delivery of the completed artwork.
Creative Process
The creative process may include:
- Initial consultation
- Concept development
- Progress updates where appropriate
- Final approval before delivery
Minor revisions may be included within the agreed commission fee.
Significant changes to the original brief may incur additional charges.
Timescales
Completion times vary depending on the scope and complexity of the commission.
Estimated timescales will be discussed during the commissioning process.
Any delays will be communicated as soon as reasonably possible.
Cancellation
If a client cancels before work has commenced, any payments made beyond the deposit may be refunded.
Once work has begun, refunds will generally not be available due to the bespoke nature of commissioned artwork.
Delivery
Delivery arrangements and shipping costs will be agreed before completion.
Embodied in Art by Jess is not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
Jessica Stevens retains full copyright and intellectual property rights in all commissioned artwork unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The purchase of a commission does not transfer copyright ownership.
Clients may display the artwork for personal use but may not reproduce, sell, licence, distribute or commercially exploit the artwork without prior written permission.
Portfolio and Promotion
Embodied in Art by Jess reserves the right to photograph and display commissioned artwork for portfolio, website, exhibition and promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
