Artist's Story - Meet Jess

What began as a personal act of healing became a mission:

To create art that heals, empowers and gives back.

"When I lost my father to cancer at nineteen, I suppressed my grief—and with it, my creativity. Nearly a decade later, one painting changed everything."

Meet the Artist

Hi I’m Jess, a British multimedia Artist.

Art saved me—it reconnected me to my body, my emotions, and my voice. Now, I want it to do the same for others.

I love to create feminist portraiture, multimedia collections, and commissions that weave together painting, poetry, sound, and psychology. Creating unique pieces designed to help women feel seen, heard, and empowered in their own stories.

Before becoming a full-time artist in 2025, I worked in Diversity & Inclusion. Experiences that now fuel my passion for visibility, empowerment, and social change.

My education is in Psychology (University of Manchester and Birkbeck, University of London), and Holistic Integrative Creative Art Therapy. Both now enable my work to bridge the areas of creativity and wellbeing.

I truly believe Art has the power to heal and with one painting at a time my hope is to do just that.

Creative Process

Every artwork begins with the body. Starting with somatic awareness, I feel into posture, stillness and breath. From there:

  • Sketching & Photography: Initial body sketches and posed photography capture raw emotion.
  • Layered Painting: Paint, textured mediums, and palette knife gestures translate feeling into form.
  • Intuitive Colour Mapping: Palettes are guided by emotion, turning abstract feeling into vivid expression.
  • Multi-Sensory Storytelling: Each painting is paired with original poetry and sound, weaving a cohesive emotional narrative.

The result: raw, intuitive art that mirrors the complexity of lived experience and invites reflection and release.

The Values

  • Compassion

Creating with empathy, honouring every story.

  • Authenticity

Showing up with honesty and vulnerability.

  • Empowerment

    Helping women reclaim their narratives.

  • Courage

Challenging silence around grief, trauma, and body image.

  • Healing

Using art as a tool for self-discovery and emotional release.

  • Impact

Ensuring every collection gives back to women-focused causes.
