About Jess & Embodied in Art
Art to Honour Your Story, Your Voice & Celebrate Your Body
Hello & Welcome,
I'm Jess - Artist, Holistic Creative Art Therapist, Sister, Daughter and Grand-daughter. Inspired by the women in my life and the stories they have carried, I created this space to honour our emotions, celebrate our bodies and deepen our connection with our intuition.
In my own story, my Grandmother was the reason I have always been drawn to Art. Teaching me to paint, the importance of history and family stories. She is the reason why my art is centred on themed collections, with each one telling a story and honouring the cycles of life, death and rebirth and the unseen realms within.
But it wasn't until my late 20s where I connected with art again. When I was 19, I lost my Dad to cancer. For many years, I suppressed my grief and with it, my creativity. Almost a decade later, through art, I found my voice again. It gave me a way to meet my grief and feel the unseen emotions within.
Now through all my work, I aim to create spaces, art, journals and colouring pages that help others to reconnect with their own emotions, body, intuition and voice in times of change, uncertainty or when a little bit of hope and colour is needed to help find your way.
Why Embodied in Art Exists
This work exists because I could not not make it.
I have navigated grief, family loss, disconnection from my body and challenges with my emotional life. Returning to art in my late twenties, I realised how so many of us have lost touch with our inner cycles, our connection to the earth and our own voice and intuition. In today's world, where rushing and continuing on has become the norm, it's easy to forget to take a moment to listen within.
Through Embodied in Art, I hope to change that by translating lived experiences, as well as chapters of a woman’s life, into paintings, poetry, music and guided creative reflections. Every piece is designed to support you, whether you are:
- Navigating grief
- Reclaiming your voice
- Reconnecting to your cycles
- Cultivating presence and mindfulness
- Celebrating your story and body
Within all my work, it is grounded in honouring our stories, the rhythms all around us and the cycles that shape our bodies and emotions.
My Promise Through Art
Embodied in Art is more than an art shop. It is a space to reflect, heal and express your emotions.
Every journal, colouring book, painting, creative reflection and custom piece I create is intended to hold space for your emotional life, your growth and connection to yourself. It is work that invites you to pause, look inward and honour your own rhythm, as well as the stories carried through your family, the world around you and your lived experience.
My background is in 'Learning and Development' and 'Diversity and Inclusion', supported by a Masters in Psychology and training in Holistic Integrative Creative Art Therapy. This foundation shapes every offering, ensuring they are thoughtful, inclusive and accessible across genders and, where possible, different ages.
While the heart of this work has been created to support women, I believe we all deserve to be seen, heard and held in our stories. You will find adapted versions of the journals and print clubs to help make that possible.
Collections & Creative Intention
All my collections are structured around thirteen paintings. Twelve that explore facets of a theme and one that holds the essence of the collection as a whole. This mirrors women’s cycles, lunar rhythms, seasonal rhythms and ancestral ways of understanding time.
Each artwork includes:
- A hand-made colouring page
- A guided creative reflection
- A poem reflecting the painting’s themes
- Classical music uncovering deeper emotional layers
These elements are not extras. They are central to the experience of each piece, inviting you to slow down, reflect and connect with yourself.
